The Crimean Tatar peninsula, where the Crimean Tatar cuisine was born, is rich in vegetation, meat, vegetables and fruits, so the cuisine here was formed under the influence of two cultures: steppe and Mediterranean. Vegetables, fruits and fish are often found on the table of southerners, and the inhabitants of the steppes prefer meat and dairy products.

Chebureks are large crescent-shaped cakes fried in boiling oil with meat filling. The name "ciborek" translates as pies that crackle.
