Numbered postal set "Ukrainian song"

“A Ukrainian song. Who has not been enchanted by it? … What artist has not been inspired by its rich melodies, the boundless breadth and beauty of its images…”, wrote Oleksandr Dovzhenko.

Hearing a Ukrainian song in painting is more than a pleasure. A drawing that seems to radiate a melody gives rise to a complex palette of emotions, filling the heart with joy and light. One of the talented artists who is able to convey the melody and plot of a song through the means of fine art is the icon painter and artist Polina Myalkovska. It was her author's works that formed the basis for the sketches of the new postage stamps of the "Ukrainian Song" series: "As if the viburnum had dressed for marriage" - a line from the legendary Ukrainian romance "Cheremshyna" with lyrics by Mykola Yuriychuk and music by Vasyl Mykhaylyuk, as well as "Lullaby", which personifies the warm and soothing atmosphere of childhood and creates a fairy-tale space free from worries.
