Sheet "Messenger of Goodness. We Are Waiting!" 2026

In April 2026, Ukrposhta, together with the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, announced a nationwide design contest for the "We Are Waiting!" postage stamp.

The contest received 195 entries. The best designs were presented in the Diia app for a public vote.

Andrii Yermolenko, whose work "Messenger of Good" took second place, depicted a Ukrainian prisoner of war isolated by barbed wire that evokes the image of a crown of thorns. Through the bars, the defender is feeding a titmouse. This contrast highlights that, even in captivity, Ukrainians retain their compassion, inner light, and human dignity.

The new postage stamps, unveiled by Ukrposhta to mark the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, are dedicated to the Heroes who ensure Ukraine stands strong, and to all of us who await their return home every day.
