During the large-scale war, Ukrzaliznytsia became a symbol of national indomitability: the evacuation of more than 4 million people, uninterrupted freight and passenger traffic, fire and repair assistance in liquidation of the consequences of missile strikes, restoration of connections to de-occupied cities.

The "Iron Men" postal block is one of the many stories of the heroism and resilience of railroad workers. May 3, 2023: shelling of Kherson, hitting the train station - a car is on fire, the conductor is injured. Despite the chaos and the air alarm, the railway workers acted in a coordinated and professional manner: they unhooked the car engulfed in flames, provided medical aid to the conductor, and quickly seated the passengers in the surviving cars.
Train No. 109 Kherson–Lviv left Kherson station with a delay of 14 minutes. And on May 4 at 10:18 a.m., according to the schedule, he arrived in Lviv.
Thanks to the brave work of the railway workers, the passengers were saved and brought to a safe place! Today, during wartime, Ukrzaliznytsia continues to transport passengers, including world politicians, launches new international routes, develops passenger services, and creates a barrier-free space.
On Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv, a train car was set up that was fired upon by the Russian occupiers in Irpen at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
The installation is dedicated to the Railway Worker's Day, which will be celebrated on November 4.
