The russian occupation of Chernihiv region began on February 24, 2022. The rashists (russian fascists) began to seize large parts of the Chernihiv region in order to try to take Kyiv. Chernihiv was never captured. By April 3, the rashists were expelled from the region.
During more than a month of russian occupation, 478 civilians were killed in the Chernihiv region. Another 692 people were injured.
