Ukrposhta started publishing the series "Ukrainian folk clothes" in 2001. Each stamp contains a unique image of the national Ukrainian costume depending on the region of Ukraine, a certain ritual or holiday for which this costume was worn.
All stamps of the "Ukrainian folk clothing" issue were created by one artist - Mykola Kochubey.
The block was issued in 2003 and contained images of the national uniform of Kharkiv Oblast, Sumy Oblast, and Donetsk Oblast. On the 2004 block, he had a Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Hutsul costume.
