The stork is an extraordinary bird that has long been revered by Ukrainians and associated with the concepts of love, family and prosperity that are important to each of us. 

The stork is one of the unofficial symbols of Ukraine, with which many folk signs, beliefs and superstitions are associated. This bird appears in numerous place names, surnames, as well as on coats of arms and emblems.

The White Stork and Eastern Nightingale stamps issued by Ukrposhta under the Europa program were recognized as winners of the Best European Stamp - Collector's Choice 2019 contest.
