In 2024, the underwater light of the Black Sea will become the theme of a new postal issue of Ukraine within the framework of the EUROPA program “Underwater fauna and flora”. The postage stamps reflect the rich and varied sea world that the Russian Black Sea fleet suffers today through combat operations and the destruction of warships.
The red greenfinch Symphodus tinca, presented on one of the postage stamps for the EUROPA 2024 issue, is a sea fish that lives in depths ranging from 1 to 50 m. The stocked fish lie in the middle of their residence, and the males are richly colored Also females, especially during the love period. Along the banks of the Crimea, individuals are increasingly growing with a length of no more than 10.5–14 cm.
On the other hand, the largest representative of crabs in the Black Sea is the stone crab Eriphia verrucosa. For living, the crab collects plots with clay up to 30 m, with rocky soil. Type of entries up to the Red Book of Ukraine. It is buried in the natural reserves “Mis Martyan” and Karadazkomu.
The issue also depicts a red sea anemone (a group of pitiful creatures - cnidarians, which belong to the class of coral polyps).
