Booklet with stamps "FREEDOM. To the 250th anniversary of US independence" 2023

In 2026, the world will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America. It was on July 4, 1776, in Philadelphia, that thirteen British colonies proclaimed the creation of a new state based on the principles of freedom, equality, and inalienable human rights.

Ukraine and the United States have a relatively short but meaningful history of partnership. On December 25, 1991, the United States officially recognized the independence of Ukraine, and on January 3, 1992, diplomatic relations were established between the countries. Since then, the United States has consistently supported democratic transformations in Ukraine, the development of institutions, and the strengthening of international security.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the United States has become one of Ukraine’s key allies, providing military, economic, and humanitarian assistance. That is why the Ukrainian postal issue dedicated to the 250th anniversary of US independence is not only a sign of respect for the history of American statehood, but also a symbol of solidarity between the Ukrainian and American peoples, united by common values of freedom, democracy and dignity.

The booklet includes a stamp sheet “FREEDOM. To the 250th anniversary of US independence” and a “First Day” envelope with special cancellation. The back of the booklet contains a description of the issue in Ukrainian and English.
