The date of April 20, 2014, was symbolically designated as the founding date of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army by order of the UDA Commander. This date marks the first offensive battle of Ukrainian volunteers under the command of Dmytro Yarosh during the anti-terrorist operation near the city of Sloviansk.
