“Happy Birthday, Kyiv” postcard

Birthday card for Kyiv! For those who have visited the city once and for all!

My interest in the history of Kyiv prompted me to create this postcard. The video is titled "How old is Kyiv really?".

My research has led to the fact that how old Kyiv really is and who founded it is not known for sure :) But there are some interesting facts:

• The date of 1500 years of Kyiv in 1982 is based on theories, not finds. That is, if we have such artifacts from the 8th century, then we can assume that in the 5th century there was this and that. The date appeared at the request of the Soviet authorities to celebrate the round date in a lavish way. The year of foundation is really very conditional.
• The existence of Kyiv as a city with fortified walls and a moat in the second half of the 9th century A.D. has been scientifically proven
• Were there any "founders of Kyiv"? There was one, he is mentioned in several chronicles. But whether he was a prince or a merchant is not known for certain. His brothers and sister are most likely place names. That is, names that came from local place names.
• How can we assume that Kyiv is younger than this serious date? But Yaroslav the Wise wanted to celebrate 1000 years of Kyiv during his reign. So checkmate to scientific research! :)
