Postal Set: “Heroic Professions: The Courage to Save"

On September 17, Ukraine celebrates Rescuer Day—a professional holiday honoring the courage and dedication of those who have made it their mission to save human lives in the most difficult moments.

For Ukrainian rescuers, the war has become a test that pushes human limits. Russian troops treacherously hunt them down even as they are clearing the aftermath of horrific enemy shelling, but they do not retreat. Whether in scorching heat or freezing cold, day or night—emergency responders remain on the scene until the very end, fighting to save every life.

They are the first to go where others flee. Unarmed but with an iron will in their hearts, they clear rubble, extinguish fires, and, step by step, rid their homeland of deadly traps. Where the enemy brings destruction and darkness, rescuers restore light and a chance for the future to the people.

Their strength lies in their quiet endurance, exceptional professionalism, and willingness to risk their own lives for others.

The “Heroic Professions: Brave Enough to Save” commemorative stamp set is dedicated to all of Ukraine’s rescuers, who keep hope alive and give the gift of life no matter what.

This stamp set includes: the “Heroic Professions: The Courage to Save” sheet, a “First Day” envelope, and a postcard.
