On June 4, 1863, the most famous Kyiv architect Vladyslav Horodetsky was born, the author and owner of an unusual house on Bankova street, which is usually called the "House with Chimeras".

Horodetsky was not only an eccentric and a romantic, as he is usually portrayed. Rather, he is a pragmatist with an eccentric character, an entrepreneur, a hunter, and the owner of the most unusual private zoo.
