Embroidery is not just an element of decor. This is our history, mythology, religion, the ancient art of our ancestors. Scientists believe that the genetic code of the nation is encoded in the embroidery. Embroidered shirts, towels, handkerchiefs represent the variety of techniques and colors of different regions of Ukraine.

Started in 2018, the series of postage stamps "Ukrainian embroidery - the code of the nation" continues with the release of a postage stamp with the image of embroidery of the Kharkiv region. Kharkiv region is represented by a women's shirt of the 19th century, on the sleeves of which there is a pictorial image of roosters - a symbol of the sun, light, awakening of life.
