The Special Operations Forces are the youngest and one of the most modern branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Over the ten years of their existence, the Special Operations Forces have participated in important operations of the Russian-Ukrainian war and have earned a reputation as professionals who perform the most complex tasks: deep behind enemy lines, in temporarily occupied territories, on land, in the air, and at sea. They are the ones who prepare the conditions for further assault operations.

Selection for the Special Operations Forces is one of the most difficult in the Armed Forces of Ukraine - only 10% of candidates pass it. Operators are trained on the principle of interchangeability: each fighter has several specialties and, if necessary, can perform the tasks of a brother or sister. Such versatility and autonomy allow small groups to operate far from the main forces.

The symbol of the Special Operations Forces is a werewolf - a werewolf warrior who is able to disguise himself and appear unnoticed where he is not expected, complete the task, and just as easily disappear without a trace. The emblem of the Special Operations Forces combines the image of a wolf with the princely two-toothed sword of Svyatoslav the Brave and his battle slogan "I'm coming for you. They became the central elements of the special postmark of this issue
