The leopard snake (Elaphe situla) is a rare species of snake found in Ukraine. It is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine with the status “vulnerable.” This snake plays a significant role in ecosystems, as it helps control the populations of rodents and other small animals. In Ukraine, the leopard snake is found primarily in southern regions, such as the Crimean Peninsula, the steppe zone of the Black Sea region, and the Azov Sea region.
