Kolomyia is one of the most populated settlements in the Carpathian region and a city of regional significance. The earliest settlements on the territory of Kolomyia existed as early as 6,000 years ago. The city is famous for its ancient architecture and remarkable landmarks.
Most of them were built in the 19th century. The Kolomyia Town Hall, located on Mykhailo Hrushevsky Avenue, was built in 1877 in the Neo-Renaissance style. The building itself has three floors, with the city's coat of arms and a clock on the tower. The city's landmark is the wooden Blagoveshchenskaya Church. It is considered one of the oldest sacred buildings in Galicia.
The Kolomyia Museum “Pysanka”, built in 2000, has a collection of over 6,000 pysankas from most regions of Ukraine and attracts visitors from all over the world.
