A cozy Lviv square with a deep history. It will be interesting for post-crossers from all over the world.
The patron saint is not accidental. Saint John was born in Dukla in the Lemko region around 1414. For some time he was a hermit, at the age of twenty he entered a Franciscan monastery, and later the Bernardine order. After 1463 he settled in Lviv, where he gained fame as a preacher and confessor.
John of Dukla died in Lviv on September 29, 1484, and the faithful immediately began to honor his memory. The cult of John of Dukla spread among Catholics not only in Galicia, but also in neighboring countries. Thanks to prayer to him, numerous believers received great relief.
