Sheet "EUROPE. National archaeological discoveries" 2025

The Ukrainian postal issue under the Europa program, whose theme in 2025 is “National Archaeological Discoveries,” presents unique exhibits from the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine: an anthropomorphic Scythian stele (5th century BC) depicting a Scythian warrior; a Scythian akynak sword (5th–4th century BC) and an akynak dagger (6th century BC); a “Papai” finial (4th century BC) — a sacred element used during religious ceremonies; bronze cauldrons (4th and 3rd centuries BC) — utensils for cooking food and for sacred practices during rituals of the Scythian elite. The statue of a Scythian warrior comes from a Scythian burial mound near the village of Novovasylivka in the Mykolaiv region.
